Hi. I am trying to find a good flower girl dress that will complement my wedding dress, but I have a question. My wedding dress will be "diamond white" -- a very pale ivory that looks white as long as its not directly next to something stark-white.
Most flower girl dresses, it seems, come in just white or ivory. Which would you recommend? I'm afraid if I get white for the flower girl, it will make my dress look a bit dingy, but if I get ivory, it will look out of place with a blue-and-white color scheme. Has anyone had this dilemma? Which color did you choose? How did it look?
Matching the flowergirl dress to the blue bridesmaid dresses is not an option. The bridesmaid dresses are of pacific blue silk dupioni -- I've never seen a flowergirl dress of this color or material.
Thanks!
Flower girl dress?
I also had this problem. we just purchased white flower girl dresses from davids bridal. we had pink sashes made for around the waist of the dresses to tie everything together. you could use red or navy and that would draw attention to that color instead of the difference in yours and their colors!
Good Luck and congrats!
Reply:Please don't put the flower girl in a color. They look so great in the traditional white. To answer your question- Put the flower girl in white. My dress is also diamond white, my flower girl is in white. You can't tell the difference and they look great next to each other. Putting her in ivory would be off and more than likely noticeable. At the bridal shop I went to they recommended white for other accessories for me as well. The veil I ordered is white. The difference in diamond white and white is very subtle if even noticeable to most humans. Go with white!
Reply:Definitely do a white dress for the flowergirl with the matching sash. Chances are you won't look awful standing next to her for a photo. It's not like people are going to notice that teeny of a detail on your wedding day. They're going to be seeing how beautiful both of you look. So yeah, make her sash sky-blue like the ring-bearer, and she'll perfectly match the theme.
Reply:This place has flower girl dresses available in diamond white, and you can have colored accents as well. I think if you google diamond white flower girl dresses you can find some options that you will like.

Reply:What color flowers are you carrying? If you are carrying pink or yellow flowers, you could put the flower girl in that color. (Red may be a little too patriotic for your tastes.) You could also find a little black dress with blue accents (sash, trim) so that she will match the groomsmen.
Reply:try pink or liliac(light purple)
you dont' want to get the in same color as you
for my wedding, i wear ivory, my bridesmaid wear liliac, and my flower girls wear pink.

Reply:My colors are turquoise and brown and we got white dresses and my gown is ivory. We put turquoise sashs on them and they look darling.
By the way we got our dresses on Ebay. They came with head pieces as well.
Reply:when i was a flower girl I wore a pink dress. The bride wore a dimond whit dress. Try pink. Congrats!
Reply:White for the flower girl is best - she's not going to be directly beside you for long, if you are so worried about the color shade thing - though you shouldn't be.
Another alternative is to get a printed dress.
