Color for the flower girl's dress?

My little (5 year old) second cousin will be our flower girl in our October 2008 wedding. My dress is ivory. Here is a picture of it:

Is it okay for the flower girl to wear a cute white dress with a light blue bow? (Our accent color is a light baby blue) Or should she wear an ivory dress?

Thanks!
Color for the flower girl's dress?
A 5 year old can pull anything off so don't worry about it. The white dress with a light blue bow will look adorable.

But who's going to be looking at the flower girl when you have a dress like that? It's amazing!

Congratulation!

Reply:The flower girl wearing white will be great! It will not take away from your dress at all. This has been done plenty times...also, you should have her toss light blues flowers as well...Good luck.
Reply:She can wear what ever you put her in and look amazing,

The dress is gorgeous by the way.

It is your wedding day and if you want her to wear white then she will wear white.

There is no right or wrong in this situation.

Congratulations on the big day... hopes its amazing for you.

Reply:Very gorgeous dress. I think I would make her dress blue...and use an ivory bow. Her wearing the accent color for her dress would bring the entire color scheme to life. Happy Wedding Day!
Reply:She should be in an ivory dress with the blue bow. If you have a little girl in pure white standing next to you in ivory, your ivory is going to look dirty and dingy. (Take a pure white piece of paper and hold it up to your ivory gown and you'll see what I mean.)

I also wore an ivory gown. Ivory flower girl dresses are surprisingly easy to find. Most bridal shops can order the flower girl dresses in either color, so definitely go with ivory.

Your dress is gorgeous by the way! Congrats and good luck!
Reply:.white is fine for the flower girl and bride only. Anyone else wearing white is being disrespectful to the bride. That white dress and blue ribbon sounds great. get a small corsage for her wrist too. .:) congrats on the wedding
Reply:She should match you- if you're wearing white, she should wear white. Likewise if you are wearing ivory- otherwise, her dress will look odd next to yours.
Reply:I think the baby blue sounds fine with the bow, but I think it would be nice if it had a flower somewhere on it, because she is the flower girl.
Reply:Before I answer your question, may I say, "What a splendidly marvelous gown!!" I adore that strapless look with the very accented bust. Love the hint of a bare midrift - sexy!! And, that high dress line pointing right up at the bust, WoW. All I can say is Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Your husband will be the envy of every man at the wedding.

Now, of course your flower girl can wear white. It is the symbol of purity, and little girls in white are like little angels. I am sure she will look sweet, but I am also positive that all eyes will be on you.
Reply:Little girls are adorable in white. That would be great. I really don't think the color should match your dress, unless you really wanted it to.

The dress is beautiful.
Reply:Absolutely!

Reply:She can wear white. It doesn't matter. It's your wedding. When I first got married my step-daughter was our flower girl and she wore white with pink flowers. It's up to you. I can understand because of your dress being Ivory, but it's okay. Congrats!
Reply:It really depends on the shade of ivory and the rest of the wedding party. First of all -how severe is the contrast between her white and your ivory? Then, consider the rest of the wedding party. Are there any other white tones in the tuxes, bridesmaids gowns, flowers, etc? If she is the ONLY thing that is white, and your gown is a darker ivory, then you might want to do ivory for her as well. Another option is to have the dress in the blue color with the sash white instead.
Reply:Honestly I like the color of the sash on the dress for the flower girl color it looks like a peach color im not sure if thats the color Ivory your talking but I think its way cute for the flower girl color
Reply:She can get away with white and the blue bow. I would not put her in ivory.
Reply:white dress w/ light blue bow
Reply:Usually flower girls wear white, and have accents that match the bridesmaids dresses. It should be fine, and what a beautiful gown! Good choice! Good luck and congratulations on your big day!
Reply:I would do an ivory dress w/ the bridesmaid color sash. Pretty dress!
Reply:I am getting married in Oct too! (the 18th) Congrats!

About the dresses, you have tons of options! You could do solid white, you could do white with a baby blue sash or bow;

or you could have her wear a solid color dress in pale blue or another color that compliments your wedding colors or bridesmaids. I think any of these would be adorable. Personally I like a punch of color for kids in the wedding, it definately fits a kids personality more than solid white/neutrals do, but that's just me.

Here are a few I really love:

Lace, since your dress has lace on it: http://www.usangels.com/collection_detai...
