When would you look for and buy a flower girl dress for a four year old?

I am afraid she will grow if we do it too soon. the wedding is 6-7-08
When would you look for and buy a flower girl dress for a four year old?
well you could defiantly start looking at them. buy it about 6 weeks before the wedding.
Reply:Try David's Bridal. Ha, that is funny; my mom's cousin got married on 6-7-07. Congrats anyway:)
Reply:We were married in August and we were able to get dresses for the flower girls after Easter at a children's boutique. There are usually quite a few styles in communion/baptism/Easter dresses out in spring. We were able to find dresses that very closely matched my dress without having to go to a bridal salon. I would buy a size large to accomodate growth. It's much easier to take the dress in with some alterations. Good luck.
Reply:Look now, buy later...like a month or so before, they can make a dress smaller, but it's harder to make it bigger.
Reply:Start LOOKING now but wait to bye till late may. She will more then likely grow out of it if you get it any sooner. May 20th is when I would bye thats gives just over two weeks to get it altered if need be but not enough time for her to out grow it.
Reply:I got mine about 6 weeks before the wedding
Reply:ask the bridal store but I had my flower girl pick out her dress in December and ordered it in February and my wedding was in April.
Reply:I getting married the same day! My daughter is going to be my flower girl. Shes 3. I am buying one 1 month before just because she grows SO quick.
Reply:I'm going to suggest around Easter time because that's when many stores carry more special occasion dresses in stock. I purchased both my flower girls dresses from TJ Maxx around Easter ( I also had a June wedding) and they were only like 25.00. Here' the link so you can see their dresses.

You can also try eBay. I'm big on comparsion shopping. I went to David's Bridal and found the dress that I wanted for my mini bride there. It was over $150.00 at David's Bridal but I purchase it off eBay for 27 and it was BRAND NEW.

Good luck in your quest!! Remember you don't have to spend alot of money to have a memorable day!
Reply:Since her dress doesn't have to match anyone elses dress just get one that fits her (on sale) a few weeks before the wedding!
Reply:If you are buying the dress from a bridal store you need to find out how long it takes to order the dress, but I would say a few months ahead. At 4 kids are not growing as fast as they were the first year. But you don't want to wait to late to were you have to pay a rush fee to be sure you get it in time.
Reply:Easter is a great time. It's only 2 months earlier and they have beautiful girls easter dresses. Plus right after the holiday everything goes on sale. If you are really concerned, buy 2 dresses and double check the return policy of the store. In some cases you have 60 days so it shouldn't be a problem.
Reply:I'd say March or early April. You need ask the mother of the girl to help you. She knows the rate at which her daughter grows. Therefore, she'll be able to say, "buy her size now OR buy it one size bigger"
Reply:Most place I had taken my son to last year when he was my uncle's ring bearer told me to bring kids around 4-6 weeks before the wedding to be fitted and then you can decide whether or not you want to purchase it then or in another 2 weeks before the wedding.
Reply:about the month before the wedding you should purchase, but you can start looking anytime you'd like.
