Where to get cheap flower girl dress?

try ebay, my wife just got some really good deals on flower girl dresses and she did her research for about a month, and found this ebay store to have a good reputation. You have to be patient though since they are in China and internatonal shipping takes like 6 weeks sometimes, plus when you win a bid on a dress you like then you have to get the measuments to them since the dresses are custom made.

Reply:There are lots of great ideas for inexpensive flower girl dresses. I am sure lots of people will tell you to look on ebay or give you websites that they like but here are some other ideas to keep in mind. The flower girl's dress does not have to look like any of the adult dresses- it can be totally different! Because of this you can either make a simple dress, buy a regular dress at a department store or wait for the big sales at the wedding dress boutiques. My aunt's wedding color was mainly navy blue but the flower girl wore a white dress with navy blue polka dots and it was adorable she still coordinated with the wedding party but looked like a little girl.

Flower girl dress help !?

i love all, so help me to chose the cutest one, thanks !!!
Flower girl dress help !?
One is my favorite. I love the little ruffled sleeves! It also depends on flower colors %26amp; the bride's (I'm assuming you?) dress. But one's the prettiest. Good luck %26amp; congrats!
Reply:Number 2 and 3 are my personal favorites. But you should have the flower girl's try them on before you make any decisions. The flower girl's dress at a friend's wedding had way too much volume in the skirt and the poor girl could barely move.
Reply:They are all really cute, but the third one is my favorite. But I think you should definitely have the flower girl try them on because, after looking at them, they do not match everyone, see which one looks best on her.
Reply:Love the third ones, then the first ones.

Second have elastic cap sleeves - they will annoy little girls eventually.

Fourth ones too plain. She will spill somethin on it as soon as the reception starts!
Reply:I really like the last one a lot, I don't know if this really means anything but I am 14 and I would wear that dress. It is so smooth and beautiful like it is full of grace.
Reply:i love the last one. it is beautiful and elegant. you do not want their dress to be to over powering so the last one is perfect i think. best wishes with your wedding and your marriage.
Reply:they are all very cute i personally think that the last one is very simple third one more formal and the 2nd one can be worn for either not really liking the 1st one as much tho ..

either 2nd or lasst one
Reply:i like the last one, because it is likely she will be able to wear it again, and its a very simple style that would go with ANY wedding
Reply:theyre very beautiful but def number 3, very pretty, and the jewels pop off the creamy white
Reply:i like the last one the best, i think it's the cutest. Good luck, they're all pretty cute.
Reply:definitely the second dress with the purple flower
Reply:i like the last 1 nd the 3rd 1
Reply:last one

Are flowergirl dresses cheaper on line or at a local store?

I'm looking for a flower girl dress by Alfred Angelo. Are they cheaper to order online or at a local store? (St. Louis).
Are flowergirl dresses cheaper on line or at a local store?
you can find cheap ones on line but also a good place to look is a consignment store or craigs list is an awesome place to find flowergirl dresses
Reply:visit http://flowergirlprincess.com this online store has top designers at the lowest prices. there is also a forum and message board to ask questions and exchange ideas. the prices here are deffinately the best.
Reply:I bought mine online for $50 shipped where at the bridal shop cost over $100. try flowergirldress.com they have good ones on there
Reply:I'd think at a store, because remember, you have too pay for shipping if you buy online.

Flower girl...?

I have been thinking about asking my matron of hours little sister to be my flower girl... I didnt ask her at the start cos i didnbt know if my budget would stretch to it and i didnt want to ask then disappoint her.

Shes a young and small 7 yr old.

The parts i need help on are...

1) cheap dresses (UK) that go with either champagne/ivory

2) what for her to carry?

Dont want her to have same flowers as me or bridesmaids...

Dont like the wicker baskets and cant afford the satin ones unless i made one myself... Not allowed to drop petals anyway so it would just have to have flowers in it

Like the flower balls... but think its beyond my budget :o(

Was thinking of her blowing bubbles as she walked down..

Do you think she would be able to do that and walk at same time? lol

Cant do candles...

Can you think of anything else?

My step son to be is 3 and he is carrying a teddy that has a jewelery box attatched with the rings in.

Thanks
Flower girl...?
She could carry lots of fun things. You've got a teddy bear. She could carry one of those teddy bears as well. Or a doll.

A floral wreath like those that go in your hair.

A small pocketbook

a bible

a family heirloom

a butterfly in a jar if you are doing a butterfly release

a large paper flower like they have at carnivals

she could carry a bowl full of flowers and not have to throw them. When she gets to the alter, she puts the flowers on the alter.

What flowers are in your bouquet? She could carry the other flower that the bridesmaids are not carrying or merely have a single long stem rose. Or a tussie mussie with just two of the flowers the bridesmaids carry.

A winter wedding I saw had the flower girl carrying some jingle bells or silver Christmas ornaments. Just like your centerpieces, you could use marbles or river rocks in a small vase as well. At my wedding rehearsal, I had the flower girl carry her lei (my rehearsal dinner was a luau).

Do you have any traditions going on? If it's an Irish wedding, she could carry something Irish. If it's African, she could carry the broom. If it's Jewish, she could carry the glass that you stomp. She could carry a platter with something borrowed, blue, old and new on it. She could carry two colors of sand if you guys are doing a sand ceremony (instead of the unity candle).

Hope this helps!!!
Reply:The dress, if you can be flexible, just allow her to wear any dress that she likes. Maybe she already has one. This would be fine, since she is a flower girl and is not wearing the same thing as the bridesmaids.

The flowers, my only thoughts are the basket with flowers in it as you suggested, or throwing tiny tissue-paper flower cutouts (you can cut those out easily yourself with a flower-shaped paper punch).

I really like the first one. I would just be sure to match the fabric of the flower girl dress to the rest of the bridal party.

My girls and I are all wearing satin dresses. So I would want the flower girl to wear satin too.

Something for you to consider. : )
Reply:I would say to pick the skirt that best matches your dress. So if you dress has a lot of rouching, go with the first one.

Reply:There's several dresses on the second link so you will have to explain further which one you mean.

The first dress is pretty but unless your dress is a pick-up style, it may not match with the wedding.
Reply:I like the dress in the top link. It's so cute, but looks sophisticated too. I think any girl would like to wear that.

Color for the flower girl's dress?

My little (5 year old) second cousin will be our flower girl in our October 2008 wedding. My dress is ivory. Here is a picture of it:

    http://www.morilee.com/DressDetail.aspx?...

Is it okay for the flower girl to wear a cute white dress with a light blue bow? (Our accent color is a light baby blue) Or should she wear an ivory dress?

    Thanks!
Color for the flower girl's dress?
A 5 year old can pull anything off so don't worry about it. The white dress with a light blue bow will look adorable.

But who's going to be looking at the flower girl when you have a dress like that? It's amazing!

    Congratulation!

    N.
Reply:The flower girl wearing white will be great! It will not take away from your dress at all. This has been done plenty times...also, you should have her toss light blues flowers as well...Good luck.
Reply:She can wear what ever you put her in and look amazing,

The dress is gorgeous by the way.

It is your wedding day and if you want her to wear white then she will wear white.

There is no right or wrong in this situation.

Congratulations on the big day... hopes its amazing for you.

    xxx
Reply:Very gorgeous dress. I think I would make her dress blue...and use an ivory bow. Her wearing the accent color for her dress would bring the entire color scheme to life. Happy Wedding Day!
Reply:She should be in an ivory dress with the blue bow. If you have a little girl in pure white standing next to you in ivory, your ivory is going to look dirty and dingy. (Take a pure white piece of paper and hold it up to your ivory gown and you'll see what I mean.)

I also wore an ivory gown. Ivory flower girl dresses are surprisingly easy to find. Most bridal shops can order the flower girl dresses in either color, so definitely go with ivory.

Your dress is gorgeous by the way! Congrats and good luck!
Reply:.white is fine for the flower girl and bride only. Anyone else wearing white is being disrespectful to the bride. That white dress and blue ribbon sounds great. get a small corsage for her wrist too. .:) congrats on the wedding
Reply:She should match you- if you're wearing white, she should wear white. Likewise if you are wearing ivory- otherwise, her dress will look odd next to yours.
Reply:I think the baby blue sounds fine with the bow, but I think it would be nice if it had a flower somewhere on it, because she is the flower girl.
Reply:Before I answer your question, may I say, "What a splendidly marvelous gown!!" I adore that strapless look with the very accented bust. Love the hint of a bare midrift - sexy!! And, that high dress line pointing right up at the bust, WoW. All I can say is Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Your husband will be the envy of every man at the wedding.

Now, of course your flower girl can wear white. It is the symbol of purity, and little girls in white are like little angels. I am sure she will look sweet, but I am also positive that all eyes will be on you.
Reply:Little girls are adorable in white. That would be great. I really don't think the color should match your dress, unless you really wanted it to.

    The dress is beautiful.
    Reply:Absolutely!

Reply:She can wear white. It doesn't matter. It's your wedding. When I first got married my step-daughter was our flower girl and she wore white with pink flowers. It's up to you. I can understand because of your dress being Ivory, but it's okay. Congrats!
Reply:It really depends on the shade of ivory and the rest of the wedding party. First of all -how severe is the contrast between her white and your ivory? Then, consider the rest of the wedding party. Are there any other white tones in the tuxes, bridesmaids gowns, flowers, etc? If she is the ONLY thing that is white, and your gown is a darker ivory, then you might want to do ivory for her as well. Another option is to have the dress in the blue color with the sash white instead.
Reply:Honestly I like the color of the sash on the dress for the flower girl color it looks like a peach color im not sure if thats the color Ivory your talking but I think its way cute for the flower girl color
Reply:She can get away with white and the blue bow. I would not put her in ivory.
Reply:white dress w/ light blue bow
Reply:Usually flower girls wear white, and have accents that match the bridesmaids dresses. It should be fine, and what a beautiful gown! Good choice! Good luck and congratulations on your big day!
Reply:I would do an ivory dress w/ the bridesmaid color sash. Pretty dress!
Reply:I am getting married in Oct too! (the 18th) Congrats!

    About the dresses, you have tons of options! You could do solid white, you could do white with a baby blue sash or bow;

or you could have her wear a solid color dress in pale blue or another color that compliments your wedding colors or bridesmaids. I think any of these would be adorable. Personally I like a punch of color for kids in the wedding, it definately fits a kids personality more than solid white/neutrals do, but that's just me.

The JBMs are wearing periwinkle, the BMs are wearing evening blue and my MOH is wearing a sky blue dress, so I'd perfer the dress be blue. I don't want to spend more than $1000 so please keep it lower. Thanks!

This site has many blue flowergirl dresses, in many various shades. Good Luck!
Reply:In my experience, the flower girl and ring bearer should mirrow what the bride and groom wear. I had three flower girls, they all wore white dresses with small pink roses and a sash at the waist. They were actually Easter dresses and only cost $35 each- a steal, compared to most bridal salons, even David's.

Reply:Flower girls are usually the same color as the bride.

What color should my flower girl's dress be?

She is 8 and I am thinking that she may be a bit old to match me.

My dress is ivory and the bridesmaid's dresses are black. Each bridesmaid has a different bright accent color for their bouquet (red, purple, yellow, orange and a teal), with my bouquet having all of the colors. The groomsmen will have coordinating bright color ties and boutineers. I was thinking the flower girl and ring bearer would have the pink accent color. Would a pink dress be too bright with the rest of the dresses such neutral colors?

What color would you recommend putting her in?
What color should my flower girl's dress be?
How about a pewter colored dress (%26amp; tux for the ring bearer)? The accents could match you in that she could have some of all the other 'Maid's colors (as opposed to a single color).
Reply:Why not have her in black too...especially if the groomsmen and ring bearer are wearing black as well...and you could still use the pink as an accent. My fiance's daughter is gong to be a flower gril in his best friends wedding in Feb..she is 8 also...and she is wearing a black dress....I think it's actually going to look beautiful!!
Reply:i would put her in an ivry dress with pink accent.

i know what you are going thro i am helping my little sister do her wedding and it is a nightmare to plan all this!
Reply:I really don't think she'd look too bright if you went with a pink dress- depending on the shade of pink. I think it would look really bold if you went with a color that coordinated with the pinks, orange or teal that you already have in your palette.

But if you don't want her in something bright, you could put her in a pastel shade or black dress or gold (a shade that would compliment your ivory) dress. And accent it with a silk flower pin or sash in the bright pink.

Since she's 8- she could likely get away with a black dress, especially if you chose a junior bridesmaid style dress than the frou-frou puffy things most people associate with flower girl dresses worn by the 4 and under crowd.
    Reply:blue iris themed (blue)
    Reply:purple
Reply:I think she would look fine in an ivory dress but maybe put a black sash around it. I just don't think pink would compliment your colors.
    Reply:ivory
Reply:Honestly, I do like your pink dress idea (what if the style matched the bridesmaids). But I also think she'll feel extra special matching you, of course depending on her maturity.

I say if she's more of the mature level, go with the pink. If she's still a kid (I think you know what I mean..) go with matching you!
Reply:i work at a bridal shop and i definitly dont think 8 is too old to match you! good luck!
Reply:same dress as your brides maids, with a pink accent.
Reply:I had mine (who was 8 as well) in a white dress with a bow that went around her waist that was the color of the bridesmaids dresses (you can get them at davids bridal). Here is the best shot I can get of the whole dress - she is covering up the bow/belt with her flowers in every other picture.

    http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh96/...

you should have her with the black bow/belt and have her flowers have a little of every bridesmaids to make a nice arrangement.
    Reply:i definetely say pink!

not to bright, maybe a lighter pink!
Reply:Is there a fusia in there? that would be stunning for the flower girl dress! Non stop compliments! :)
Reply:Have her in the same color as your dress with a pink sash..then her bouquet with all the colors in her bouquet.
Reply:Pink might seem odd as it is no where in your color scheme. Pick one of the acent colors for them or two complimentary colors, one for each! Purple and teal would be nice together? Or have the ring bearer in a black vest and pick just one of the colors for the flower girl? I saw a color scheme like this once and they had a black sash on the flower girls dress too and it looked very nice. You have lots of options though I do think pink would look out of place. My personal pick would be red! Good luck and best wishes!

Oops, I should clarify - not an entirely red or black or whatever dress. Ivory with the red or black or whatever in a sash!
Reply:I would do black with pink accents then... pink would be too bright in my opinion
    Reply:baby'blue..dats nice..
Reply:Have her wear black to match your bridesmaids (may have to order specially; I'm sure most dress boutiques have many catalogs and would help you w/ this. Forever Yours has many colors in small sizes. I'm having my flower girl wear burgundy or lilac. The groomsmen are grown up enough to deal w/ "girly" colors, but make sure you little ring bearer won't throw a fit over the color pink as an accent. He may be at an age where pink=girls=cooties. :)
Reply:What about a raspberry color? I think that might look nice with the rest of the colors you mentioned. Or maybe you can have the flowergirl match the color of the maid of honor and the ring bearer match the color of the best man. That would look cute...

You know what tool I found helpful as far as colors go...David's Bridal has a tool on their website called "Dress Your Wedding." It may not have the same dresses as your girls have, but you can still have the dresses in black and they allow you to add any color ribbon that you want. You can also add the flower girl into the wedding scene and dress her up with different dress/colors as well. It's pretty neat and it gives you a good idea of how all the colors will look together...

Give it a try; worked well for me

    http://www.davidsbridal.com/dress_your_w...
    Reply:yellow!!!!!!!!!!
    Reply:pink coz shes still 8
Reply:I would put her in a white or ivory dress with accents in one of the other accent colors. I think its good that that you are not getting her a matching dress. I think it looks too weird and corny.
Reply:ususally the flower girls dress matches the bride. so ivory or white . I wouldn't do pink that would look funny. u could do a black w. pink accents, but black is a bit dark for such a young girl. I think the best bet is ivory or white with a pink ribbon. the black will make her look older!
Reply:You need a little splash of color and your flower girl would be the perfect person to provide it. The right shade of pink would be great.

Who should pay for the Bridesmaids dresses?

I'm planning a wedding for July 2007. I have my bridesmaids picked out and also know thier financial states. I don't know if I can pay for all the dresses for them and the tuxes and the flower girls dresses, but I don't want to have the problem of one of the bridesmaids dropping out because they can't afford the dress. My finace is fine with us paying for them and he has never argued differently. I'm just caught in a tight spot.
Who should pay for the Bridesmaids dresses?
It is the bridesmaid's and groomsmen's job to pay for their own attire, but it is YOUR job to select attire that is affordable for everyone you have chosen to be in the wedding party.

If you've picked out a $400 bridesmaid dress, but when you think about it, your friends are really more of a $150 dress crowd, the situation is just not going to work out-- you're going to have to be more flexible with your expectations.

One way to slightly reduce their expenses is to let them wear their own dressy shoes that they already own, and accessories they already own. They do not have to be completely identical to each other.
Reply:They should pay for their own dresses, and the one person that can't afford to pay ask her how much can she pay and if you have the extra moneys then help her out. Their are also some places where you can rent bridesmaids dresses.
Reply:Bridesmaides pay there own! Its STRESSFUL ENOUGH to pay for the Reception in itself!
Reply:Usually the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses.

Or you can offer to pay the amount over 100.00 or just pay half. It's up to you.

I offered my bridesmaid the amount over 160.00 because I had them pick out the dresses themselves, (with my final approval of course) I just picked out the color of course. After all they are buying the dresses, they have to wear them and they are stuck with them in their closet. They don't feel it's a total loss to them if they get to pick out the dress because they can pick something out that they can wear to future events and are less likely to complain.

    Good luck and congrats.
Reply:It is the bridesmaids' responsibility to pay for their dresses...the same goes for the groomsmens' rentals. The parents of the flower girls are responsible for their dress purchase.

Now, if you have someone come to you and mention that her financial status is a little tight...that is when you offer to pay for her. However, if that does happen, make sure it isn't broadcast within the bridesmaids, etc as that could have the potential to cause problems.

Don't pay for them from the beginning, unless you want their dresses and tuxes to be their gifts, instead of jewelry or a flask...if you don't have an unlimited budget, then don't go overboard:

    Dresses for 5 bridesmaids = 150*5 = 750

    Tuxedo rentals for 5 groomsmen = 100*5 = 500

    Dresses for 2 flower girls = 100*2 = 200

    Gifts for everyone = 100*12 = 1,200

    Total cost = 2,650

Granted that is only an estimate, but that money can be better spent on upgraded chairs for the reception...think long and hard about what you do.
Reply:For my wedding i am offering to pay for either half of my bridesmaids dresses or for their hair and make-up to be done. we are having a fairly small wedding. most bridesmadis pay for there own, but if you find dresses that arent too expensive and it fits into your budget its a nice way of saying thanks for being in my weding.
Reply:i've heard that the bride pays for the maid of honors dress, but the bridesmaids pays for there own. but that is just what i've heard and that is what i'm doing for my wedding. but my maid of honor really cant afford her dress.
Reply:I have been in 3 weddings.. I have had to PAY for all my dresses and only once was I actually asked what I want to wear.

Part of agreeing to be a part of the wedding is paying for your dress.. its your responsibility to get them a thank you gift for being in it.

If however you know someone cant afford it and needs help maybe you can offer to pay for it as their present, but I would keep this hushed and a deal between you and the person that is having a hard time. I just asked my roommate and he agrees.. neither of us female or male has gotten their outfit paid for.. we have always had to pay..

I say make them pay and wait for them to tell if they cant before you even think about offering..
Reply:The bridesmaids are supposed to pay for their own dresses, and you're supposed to take their financial situations into account when choosing the bridesmaids dresses. Perhaps you should find a similiar dress that is more affordable.
Reply:Well....I've been in FIVE weddings and I've paid for all five bridesmaid dresses myself. When I got married, my bridesmaids paid for their own as well. Mind you all five of my bridesmaids where the girls of all the five weddings I was in, so I figured it was only fair!!
Reply:I didn't have a big wedding so I can only talk as a bridesmaid. I usually paid for the dress and shoes myself. If the bride is truly worried she may not want to wait until the last minute. Soemone might not be able to pay 200 or 300 hundred for a dress they will never wear again. Keep it simple and elegant. Make sure the shop has layaway. that way they can pay smaller amounts of money over time then all at once. In the end does it really matter? It is going to be your day. Go be a blushing Bride and bless you
Reply:they should pay, if the one has an issue financially why not bring her to the side and the 3 of you talk it out, maybe y'all can put up half and she pay half
Reply:Strange...I've been in five weddings as a bridesmaid or maid of honor and I have ALWAYS had to pay for my own dress...work it out with your girls now...same goes for all of the wedding attendants including flower girls...never heard of anyone but an extremely wealthy family offering to pay for the attendant's outfits.
Reply:You probably know that the bridesmaids are sopose to pay for there dresses but if financially they can't do it then you will have to figure out some ways around it

    My sugestion

Look for dresses that are on the clearence rack out of season it;s seems like girls are wearing any color it doesn't matter the season

Try going to Macys or Jcpenny and look for dresses in the same color but different dresses. That way you can get a selection of dresses on sale

Maybe for those that don't have the money you can pay for half.
Reply:The bridesmaid should. It is custom that they do so. have never heard of a bride being responsible for buying them
Reply:In my wedding and in all of the weddings I have been in the bridesmaids bought their own dresses and the groomsmen rented their own tuxes and the parents of the flower girl bought the flower girl dress. If money is an issue, try to find fairly cheap bridesmaids dresses that they can afford, you can find nice dresses that don't cost an arm and a leg. Chadwicks has some nice ones. I wouldn't offer to help them out but if one comes to you and tells you that they can't afford the dress then offer to help them out. They should know they are supposed to buy their own dresses and rent their own tuxedos and they should have plenty of time between now and the wedding to save their money to do so.
Reply:They pay for their dresses themselves. You could buy the accessories for hair and neck in bulk and ask for a contribution though...especially if you want all to look uniform.
Reply:the bridesmaids pay for all their dresses and groomsmen pay for their tuxes.
Reply:The bridesmaids pay for there own dresses. Just be considerate and pick out an affordable dress. You can get bridesmaids dresses for like $50 or less at David's Bridal.
Reply:In my experience the bridesmaids are responsible for their dress and shoes. However if you are asking that they all get their hair done at the same place, have the same accessories ect. Iin the weddings i've been in the bride covers this. If a bridesmaid is going to have trouble paying for it you could offer to go in for part of the dress, or you could tell her the style number ect and she might be able to buy a used one off e-bay. Also you might want to remind them that if they sell them after the wedding they could get a portion of their money back. (The price may not seem so bad if you know that you'll get some of it back )
Reply:find some cheaper dressess...or if you find something you really love have them pay what they can and then you can pay the difference...typically the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses but i think it's wonderful that you want to help...maybe you could make that their bridesmaid's gift too instead of getting them some other things too
Reply:At my best friend's wedding (haha, like the movie), she sent us links to dresses with the colors she wanted and let us pick out the dress we wanted to wear. It was actually great. We each paid for our own and luckily it was only $80! Beautiful dresses, too.

:) If you are gonna have the girls pay for it (wise, b/c darn weddings are mad expensive), let them pick out the dress/price range. Cause I have one friend who wanted me to be a bridesmaid and the dresses she wanted us to wear were $300!!! and I said, sorry, i can't be in your wedding. LOL.
Reply:Normally, the bridesmaids pay for their own gowns - as do the groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, etc.

When it comes to picking the dresses - it is possible to pick dresses that are not overly expensive. The last wedding I was in, the gowns were beautiful satin gowns that we each paid $75 for! We got them at a department store during Prom season so they had a good selection of formal gowns. My own bridesmaids got their dresses at a small boutique in the mall that specialized in trendy casual wear and only carried a few dress styles - they each paid $49!

If you have your heart set on a more expensive style and you think it may be a problem for the girls, consider helping with part of it instead of all of it.
Reply:I had an experience once where I was asked (and totally thrilled) to be a maid of honor. HOWEVER, the dresses that the bride chose were close to $200 PLUS shoes, etc. I was in the middle of putting myself through school, had a carpayment, insurance, etc and at that price, there was no way I could afford it.

Needless to say, I was not able to do it....and the bride never even came back and offered to help and/or offer any alternatives to me...I figured that it just wasn't that important for her to have me in it...and I never heard another word from her.

I thought that was pretty rude, to be honest.

I don't think any bridal party member would expect you to pick up any costs for them, HOWEVER, if you run into someone who just explains to you that are really strapped for money, then maybe offer to help them in some way or another. It could be paying for her dress.....or her shoes...or her hair.....or even just offering another alternative to a dress that is lower in cost and in her price range. But to ignore her and let her go completely is pretty rude, I think.

  • What about this for a flower girl dress?

Winter wedding. Old Hollywood theme. Colors silver, white, cobalt, and ice blue accents. Bridesmaids wearing cobalt with silver accents from Alfred Angelo.

How do you think this would look?

    http://www.cuteasabug.biz/proddetail.php...

AND what's a good covering I could get them to wear that would be cute since the dresses are sleeveless?

ORRRRR I just found this one. The color is different, but I could just add more accents in this color to tie it in.

    http://www.cuteasabug.biz/proddetail.php...
What about this for a flower girl dress?
I like the first one the best. You can probably find a small white sweater or something at like gymboree or maybe they sell them and bridal shops?
Reply:While i do think that the first dress is lovely, the pink accents in the dress dont really match your colours. But the silver might be more over powering not to notice it??

While the second is not as "nice", its still a really lovely dress. Its more wintery and the long sleves will keep the girls warmer. If the girls have some nice little silver shoes and some white flowers in their hair, it would tie in your colour scheme well and really look cute. Maybe scattering some ice blue rose petals as they walk down.

    Like these...

EDIT: ShrinkyDink is right, it states that its Silver in the title, but the description below says its gray!!! Just be sure before you buy!!!
Reply:I love both the dresses but I would go with the blue one only because the grey/silver one has pink accents which I think would maybe not be the best with all the blue. But the pink is very subtle and the dress is still beautiful.

Not sure about the covering but if I think of something I will come back to edit. :-)
Reply:That dress isn't silver. It's grey. The title says silver, but the description says grey. Whatever you do, do not buy the dress off the internet. They never match or look the way you think they will and you just have to spend more money to return them (though some places won't even let you do that).
Reply:The first one is cute, but it doesn't seem to tie in with the theme of winter or the color scheme (it looked brownish to me). The second one isn't bad at all, I think it's cute, it will be much warmer than the first and it is a hue that you're planning on.
Reply:i dont think the color of your first dress will tie in with the colors of your wedding. the second dress sin't as cute as the first one, but maybe the first one comes in the color of the second one.
Reply:I like the first one. I would get them a little cobalt blue chiffon shawl or little half jacket.
    Reply:Definitely the first one.
Reply:i liked the first dress but the second one is not very cute. I would go with the first one. and have her wear a shaw.

When should i ordered a flower girl dress.?

You should do it the same time that your bridesmaids order their gowns, which is usually recommended no later than 6 months prior to the wedding. Dresses can take up to 3 months to produce and then you need the extra time for alterations.

Dresses for flower girls are the trickiest because their bodies haven't fully developed yet. Their dresses aren't as easy to find in bridal shops as bridesmaid dresses and bridal gowns are.

    Flower girl dress?

I would like my flowergirls dress to a minture version of mine. Expext lilac with white flowers. How can I do this when I can find a dress anywhere like it. Without spending $100 or more?

I am thinking about having it made. can anyone tel me the best place to find patterns?
    Flower girl dress?
Well, it is very hard to make it a miniature version of yours and it will be very costly. I have some links.

What do you think of this flower girl dress?

I took my flower girl out today to go dress hunting its so hard she is almost 4 but still only in 2 yr old clothes she really wanted this on and after she tryed this one on refused to try on any more... Im a bit undecided about it. Everyone is like she looks cute but i dunno... What do you think?

    http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g311/x...
What do you think of this flower girl dress?
It's perfect for a flower girl. And she does look cute. But if it doesn't fit in with your wedding... just find her a different one and convince her it's much more beautiful, tell her she looks like a princess.
Reply:Its a bit plain, I like the idea of adding something to it, maybe a net underskirt in your colours and have it a tiny bit longer than the dress so it shows and do the sequins on the flower, could you possibly change the tie bit around the waist to a nice silk ribbon that matches your colours? That little splash of colour can make a big difference (see pic in link below)

    http://www.phys.ocean.dal.ca/~jhurst/flo...

You could also try googling some images of dresses that you would prefer and asking her to look at them. I'm sure if you showed her something more fancy and sparkly and princessy she'll love it and want it more, little girls are quite fickle!
Reply:What don't you like about it? Clearly you have some reservations, what are they? Maybe we can help. I'll bet she likes this one because it looks like there is nothing itchy on it. Alot of poofy, lacey flowergirl dresses are really uncomfortable and 4 year olds just don't deal well with that. It's a nice dress dress and she looks cute in it. You can dress it up with shoes and hair. You can also add two really pretty ribbons at the hem to match your colors.
Reply:I think it's adorable, but it's pretty easy for cute little girls to pull off just about anything.

It's your wedding after all though, and I suppose that means you get the final word. I think your flower girl might behave better and cuter if she loves the dress she's in though...just like us big girls. =)
Reply:I think its lovely. Are you having a colour scheme? if so you could incorperate that with flowers, a cute headband etc. The most important thing is that she likes the dress and isnt going to throw tantrums about putting it on on your big day! good luck x
Reply:That's cute - and if you want to add some color to match the flower petals, that will be fine.

Don't add sequins, though, it won't go.
Reply:It is cute but like others have said it is your wedding maybe add a colour to go with your scheme like a belt or a little shrug or something.
Reply:She looks really adorable- I like that it's not too cutesy cutesy but she loos adorable and chique (for a almost 4 year old thta is!)
Reply:she does look cute really sweet to be honest!

    BUT

    YOU FLOWER GIRL

    ITS YOUR WEDDING

its your day do what makes YOU HAPPY

    its all about YOU

    WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!
Reply:I think she looks really cute :)

But it doesnt really go with your wedding dress so maybe add something like a sash?

Hope you have a great day.
    Reply:Cute.

Mayby some colour with flowers or something
Reply:I think she and the dress are absolutely adorable!
Reply:Very cute but put some decorative flowers on it.
Reply:It's really cute it's just a little blah. I would agree that you need to add a little colour and it would be perfect.
Reply:It looks great and the fact that she likes it is even more important. She won't fuss the day of the wedding.
Reply:I think its a beautiful dress she looks so cute
Reply:honestly, pretty plain. But nice and basic so it doesn't take away from the bride.

  • Flower Girl dress?

How shold I go about the flower girl dress? I am giving my bridesmaids the option of dress (I am picking out 6-7 dresses and they can pick 1 from those) but I don't knwo what to do with the flower girl dress. The flower girl is my fiancee's cousin's daughter

Do I pick out a few dresses that I like and tell the mother or do I just tell the mom some generallized things of what I would like (ivory, long, etc.) and send her a picture of my wedding dress so she can have it match slightly?
    Flower Girl dress?
I would send a pic of your gown...and give a gentle generalization.

Paying $100 and up for an adult gown is one thing..paying the crown jewels for a child's dress is a different critter.

She may have a communion dress that she can wear...or can duel purpose your flower girl dress! That would be great!

A friend told me she got a custom made dress on ebay for her daughter for $25.00!

I saw the dress...and this friend has IMPECABLE taste (sephora, coach, louis, klein..etc..) and the dress was amazing!
Reply:I would definitely tell the mother that you need to approve the dress. Also, someone else suggested eBay. I have friends that have found lovely flower girl dresses on eBay--worn once and in perfect shape!
Reply:Pick it out yourself so you will know the exact look you want for her and your wedding. PPl tend to have a different vision then what you are actually looking for.
Reply:There are some lovely dresses on jcpenney.com - some white, some coloured, depending upon what you want. They are beautiful, but way less expensive than 'wedding' site dresses. Another option is to look for First Communion dresses.
Reply:I picked out the pattern that I wanted for the flowergirls (we had 3 of them) and my stepMIL had a friend of hers make them.
Reply:I'm not sure wht to do here either but i think i'll pick a few that i like, one that matches me, one that matches the colour of the bridesmaids and a few others and then take the flower girls and their mother to see them all and see which one comes out on top, you have the casting vote :)
Reply:I would pick it if I were you. I am in the middle of planning a wedding too and I am discovering that when you give people the option to do things, they tend to do what they want and not what you want. I would pick it out and have them pick it up or do the things necessary to have it ready. Congratulations!
Reply:Its up to you, whatever you want her to look like, you or the bridesmaids...or totally different!

you may run across something you love for the flowergirl in the regular kids departments, especailly with Easter coming up.

My bridesmaids wore jade green and carried purple flowers, but I wanted my flowergirl to look like a girl, and I wanted her to be able to wear the dress again. Gowns are such a big expense, and theres really no where else for a little girl to wear it. We found a beautiful regular dress with flower print in lighter shades of the purple and green.

    she looked fabulous!

*EDIT* since you are so far away and cannot go together to pick something out, I would say find out her size and choose something for her, or find something at a chain store (like davids bridal, jcpenney, or sears), so they can try on the same one where they live.
Reply:For me, my flower girl was hard to fit, she's so skinney so I just let her mother shop. She picked out several that fit, then I decided which one I liked the most.

    Flower girl dress?

Hi. I am trying to find a good flower girl dress that will complement my wedding dress, but I have a question. My wedding dress will be "diamond white" -- a very pale ivory that looks white as long as its not directly next to something stark-white.

Most flower girl dresses, it seems, come in just white or ivory. Which would you recommend? I'm afraid if I get white for the flower girl, it will make my dress look a bit dingy, but if I get ivory, it will look out of place with a blue-and-white color scheme. Has anyone had this dilemma? Which color did you choose? How did it look?

Matching the flowergirl dress to the blue bridesmaid dresses is not an option. The bridesmaid dresses are of pacific blue silk dupioni -- I've never seen a flowergirl dress of this color or material.

    Thanks!
    Flower girl dress?
I also had this problem. we just purchased white flower girl dresses from davids bridal. we had pink sashes made for around the waist of the dresses to tie everything together. you could use red or navy and that would draw attention to that color instead of the difference in yours and their colors!

    Good Luck and congrats!
Reply:Please don't put the flower girl in a color. They look so great in the traditional white. To answer your question- Put the flower girl in white. My dress is also diamond white, my flower girl is in white. You can't tell the difference and they look great next to each other. Putting her in ivory would be off and more than likely noticeable. At the bridal shop I went to they recommended white for other accessories for me as well. The veil I ordered is white. The difference in diamond white and white is very subtle if even noticeable to most humans. Go with white!
Reply:Definitely do a white dress for the flowergirl with the matching sash. Chances are you won't look awful standing next to her for a photo. It's not like people are going to notice that teeny of a detail on your wedding day. They're going to be seeing how beautiful both of you look. So yeah, make her sash sky-blue like the ring-bearer, and she'll perfectly match the theme.
Reply:This place has flower girl dresses available in diamond white, and you can have colored accents as well. I think if you google diamond white flower girl dresses you can find some options that you will like.

Reply:What color flowers are you carrying? If you are carrying pink or yellow flowers, you could put the flower girl in that color. (Red may be a little too patriotic for your tastes.) You could also find a little black dress with blue accents (sash, trim) so that she will match the groomsmen.
    Reply:try pink or liliac(light purple)

you dont' want to get the in same color as you

for my wedding, i wear ivory, my bridesmaid wear liliac, and my flower girls wear pink.

Reply:when i was a flower girl I wore a pink dress. The bride wore a dimond whit dress. Try pink. Congrats!
Reply:White for the flower girl is best - she's not going to be directly beside you for long, if you are so worried about the color shade thing - though you shouldn't be.

Another alternative is to get a printed dress.

    Flower Girl Dresses?

I know there is no right ot wrong way to do it, but i wanted to get opions. Did you have your flower girl in white, or the same colors as the bridesmaids.
    Flower Girl Dresses?
My colors are kiwi, lavender and yellow. The bridesmaids are wearing kiwi and lavender, the flower girl is wearing a yellow dress. The bridesmaids are going to carry a bouquet of different colors listed above and the flower girl is going to drop yellow rose petals. They match the bouquet that I am carrying. Your flower girl does not have to match you. You can have her wear what you want.
Reply:I'm having the flowergirl in white. Her style of dress is very similar to my dress. When I was a flowergirl, back in the day, my dress was hand-made to match my aunt's wedding dress so i've always had the image that the flowergirl is a mini version of the bride.

Reply:I am getting married Jan. 2009 and my theme is winter, Snowflakes, blues, silvers, whites. I found that a simple none expensive way to dress the flower girl and other kids is to go to www.weddingtutu.com/ they have these tutu's that are simpli and the girls can use them later for dress up. My suggestion is to look at tutu's and leotards for the girls. Maybe a super fluffed up tutu and ballet slippers for the 4 year old and a longer tutu for the 8 year old. If you find something you like, go to a Joan Fabrics and find a simple pattern to make them (to save even more money if you know someone who can sew).

Reply:maybe it sounds a little intimidating but if you or somebody in your family has a sawing machine you can make them. it is very easy, you only need one pattern because it has many sizes, it costs about $1.50 the fabric if you choose satin {which is very beautiful and it looks very expensive} for the two dresses, it's no more than $30.00 at $6.50 a yard regular price you can always find specials. tulle, is right now $1.50 a yard at Hancock's. I made my granddaughter's 4 and 7 and very little one 9 month dresses for less than $40.00,plus with the remnants I made the ring bearer pillow, the flower baskets and the bride and groom pew pillows. Plus two flowers {same fabric} for their hair using a non-expensive barrette.that is if you choose satin. But there is other fabrics you can use less expensive ,nice all the same.I did all this for my daughter wedding this coming may.So I know DIY It's the only way to really stretch your budget when you are having that kind of a fairy tale wedding. You still have time to look around as I did some dresses were cheap but so was the fabric! the I would have to pay a significant sum of money to have them done plus the cost of fabric. For us, it worked. I wish you all the luck searching, don't forget to check small bridal stores, sometimes they have good deals, like if you buy this, you can have that for a fraccion etc... hope it helped.

Reply:One of my flower girls wore this dress:

    http://www.flowergirldressforless.com/mm...

It was A LOT cuter in person. I wish you could see it... :-( The bottom is done in layered organza-like fabric shaped like long leaves. And my seamstress took extra fabric from the bridesmaids' dresses and made the flowered "belt" out of that. (The flowergirl dress was white.)

AND: both my flower girls wore their dresses again. $75 is still a lot to spend on a dress, so I was happy to see pictures of them wearing the dresses at formal dinners and again on Easter!

Reply:Perfect timing for this question. My flower girls purchased their dresses around Easter time...when all of the area department stores had their pretty white dresses out!!! We got all three flower girl dresses at JCPenney for super cheap. We had a 2 year old that we put in a cute lavender frilly Easter dress for like $25!!! The other girls were around $50-80 because they were older (7 and 10).

Go to your local department store - Sears, JCPenney, Kohl's, etc - and look for Easter dresses or even First Communion Dresses. Since she is 2 years old, you might be able to find something under Christening Gowns!

I agree that you shouldn't spend much on her dress. Be sure to buy a size up in case she grows a bit between now and the wedding!
Reply:I ordered my flowergirl dress and the ring bearer tux from the site below. They were beautiful and fit great and paid $60.

Reply:How about checking your local department stores and children's clothing stores. We're in the time of year for the frilly spring "Easter" type dresses to be on the racks.
Reply:LOVE your dress and can say first hand it's beautiful in person. One of my best friends wore it last summer in her wedding.

You don't need to shop for a 'flower girl dress' look for an easter dress that's on sale. And if you get a dress that's not designed for a wedding specifically she might beable to wear it again. Remember though that white on toddlers tends to stain quickly.

Reply:My flower girl ended up getting her dress at Ross. They just went with the colors of the bridesmaid dresses. I do know that sometimes the bridal shops put their flower girl dresses on sale. We almost got her one of those. It was still $50. And you take them as is. It all depends o what you want her in. I personally thought it was crazy to spend that much on a dress so I told them whatever they could afford in the color of my bridesmaids dresses. Good luck!
Reply:NOt trying to be mean or rude but you're spending 600 dollars on your dress and you're only going to wear it once! Besides, when you're done with both dresses you can sell them on ebay and get some of the money back.
